The Brief
You will work on a short research project as a team to build your primary methodologies and confidence before individually undertaking a research project into your own area of interest
within Fashion Identity. You will then come back together as a team with your newfound data and work on collating this into a harmonious outcome for an exhibition.
My Response
For this group project we all undertook four different research pillars: 'Feeling Blue', the 'Rise of Nike Trainers', 'The History of the Blazer' and 'Transhumanism'. These pillars all came under an umbrella of transformity and disruption. This expresses that people have the power to choose their identity and the feelings that come hand-in-hand with colour or silhouette in fashion. 'Pick your Player' illustrates the fluidity of todays fashion in the futuristic climate. The format of the images gives a nudge to how fashion might look in the future due to the new technology of AI. The idea of the placebo effect was incorporated into the research behind the outcome and how these different styles make us humans feel.
Skills
Exhibition Design and Curation: From this brief I was able to gain a specialised skill. Exhibition design and curation involves creating displays to showcase your work whilst leaving a lasting impression on consumers. This is another skill that will be valuable for me to have as i move into industry.
Implementation of Multiple Ideas: Being able to implement multiple ideas is essential in the fashion industry. It enables you to manage various design concepts simultaneously, ensuring diverse and innovative ideas that cater to a broad audience, a strong skill that I have taken away from this brief.
Adaptability and Flexibility: Adaptability and flexibility are crucial in the fashion industry. They allow you to respond swiftly to changing trend, ensuring that your designs remain relevant and your business stays competitive.
